Having a nice and clean website design is important to catch your visitor's interest and make sure that your message comes across the way you want it to.

When it comes to setting up a website, there are two main things to consider: Do I want a very simple, static website (where for the most part the web designer has to be phoned when something needs to get changed) or do I want a flexible site where I can do most of the changes myself, post news and special offers and such.

No matter which option you choose, we'll need some basic things from you, such as text for the main sections of the site, photos and logos.

If you're leaning towards the first option, we can develop a site for you from scratch (if you're interested in the details, we use mostly XHTML and CSS for that), host it and maintain it for a fixed fee.

If you do however, like most of our customers, lean towards the second option, then we set up a so-called Content Management System (CMS). Content Management Systems allow the customers (you), once the initial design and setup is finished, to do most of the updates and maintenance themselves.  Adding content and updating is usually quite simple for people with basic computer skills, and we provide the basic training and assistance in getting started in using the system.

There are several popular CMS systems available in the market. The most popular ones are Joomla! (yes, the ! is part of the title), WordPress, Drupal and Mambo. You may have heard of some of them and even have experience in using them. If that's the case, the choice is easy!

If you don't have a CMS preference, we recommend Joomla! which is tried and tested and offers a huge selection of plugins and add-ons. Africa Web Design's own site, for example, is being run on Joomla!

Various options and extras are available for your site - event calendars, discussion forums, web shops, credit card payment gateways, photo galleries and so on.  Ask us about it and we'll do our very best to make it happen.

Basic Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is included in all our web design packages.

Once we have discussed your needs and you have provided us with the text and images for the site, we take over and a few days later you have a working website!
